Facebook is an online social media platform owned by by American technology conglomerate Meta Platforms (who also own Instagram and WhatsApp).
Whereas other social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram focus on content creation, Facebook is all about supporting local communities and businesses. In addition, recent surveys show that around half of existing Arts Society members currently use Facebook, and that over a third of all Facebook users are over the age of 45. Let's not forget that it is also free to use.
It is for these reasons that we are now incentivising Societies to use Facebook.
It's worth noting that in all of these video tutorials will initially be focusing on Facebook use on a laptop. I am using safari, on a MacBook, although it should look the same whichever internet browser you use. Facebook also has an excellent app available for mobile users.
